This trek is a charming journey through Gurung and Magar villages, descending into the Kali Gandaki valley between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The valley is a winter migration route for birds from the Siberian steppes and Tibetan Plateau. Following the ancient trade route to Mustang and Tibet, the trail offers a Tibetan-like experience, ending at the pilgrimage site of Muktinath (3,658 m). The return journey includes a visit to the Tatopani hot spring before heading back to Pokhara via Ghandrung and Dhampus. Starting from either Jomsom or Pokhara, the trek showcases stunning panoramic views from Ghorepani and the Deurali ridge, providing a memorable introduction to the Himalayan Kingdom.
