Yala Peak

15 Days

Climbing Yala Peak, towering at 5637m, is a captivating adventure and is renowned as one of the more accessible trekking peaks in Nepal. This makes it an excellent choice for those seeking the thrill of summiting a Himalayan peak while maintaining a shorter time frame. The Yala Peak expedition is tailored for individuals who want to experience the excitement of a Himalayan summit without committing to an extended period.

The journey to Yala Peak transcends typical hiking, offering an exhilarating adventure in the Langtang Region. The climbing route involves straightforward scrambling, featuring a 700m elevation gain on the summit day with an average incline of 22 degrees. Notably, there is a 200m section at a 40-degree incline. This makes Yala Peak an ideal choice for trekkers with no prior climbing experience but seeking to infuse a sense of adventure into their Langtang trek. Upon reaching the summit, breathtaking views of the Langtang Range peaks and Mt. Shishapangma unfold. Mt. Shishapangma, standing as the only 8000m peak entirely within Tibet, is just 20km away from Yala Peak. The trek to Yala Peak’s base camp meanders through lush forests, traditional ethnic settlements, and, while non-technical, demands a basic level of outdoor experience and an average fitness level.
