Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m.), transfer to hotel
Upon your arrival at the International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will warmly greet you and facilitate your transfer to the hotel. In the evening, BG Travel will host a welcome dinner for you at a restaurant, providing an opportunity to relax and begin your journey with a delightful dining experience.
Day 02: City tour & preparation in Kathmandu (1300m)
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour to explore several of Kathmandu’s most historical and spiritual landmarks, many of which are designated as World Heritage Sites. The tour includes visits to the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the renowned ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath), and the Buddhist shrine of Bouddha Nath, one of the largest stupas globally.
Around noon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where you can meet our trek leader and fellow team members. During this session, we will provide detailed information about your upcoming trek, address any questions you may have, and ensure you are well-prepared for the adventure ahead.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (1462m): 7 hrs driving
Early in the morning, following breakfast, we will embark on a drive to Syabru Bensi (1,470m) via Dhunche. This marks the commencement of your adventure! As you journey through various small villages, you’ll be captivated by glimpses of everyday life in these local communities. The route offers superb views of the Himalayas, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and the peaks of the Langtang region. This scenic drive sets the stage for the exciting trekking experience that lies ahead.
Day 04: Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel (2500m): 6 hrs walking
The trail commences by crossing the Bhote Kosi, originating from Tibet, and then proceeds to gradually ascend through sub-tropical forests abundant with birdlife. Eventually, it merges with the trail from Syabru. Towards the conclusion of the trek, there is a short climb leading to Lama Hotel, where you will rest for the day.
Day 05: Lama Hotel to Langtang (3430m): 5 hrs walking
Today’s trek takes you through Gumanechok and Ghoda Tabela, named for the horse stable. The trail gradually ascends, offering picturesque views of the valley with grazing yaks. Langtang village, an ancient and local settlement along the route, provides spectacular views as you draw closer to the mountains. Before reaching the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park, you can visit a monastery. The day promises a blend of cultural exploration and stunning mountain vistas.
Day 06: Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3730m): 4 and half hrs walking
Today’s trek is shorter, designed for acclimatization. The trail ascends gradually through small villages and yak pastures. The journey is made more interesting by the presence of the famous cheese factory. Kyangjin boasts a vibrant setting, surrounded by snow-capped mountains on all sides. Panoramic views include Kyangjin Ri (4750m), Tserko Ri (5000m), Ganja La (5160m), Langshi Sa-ri (6427m), Dorji Lakpa (6430m), Naya Kanga (5844m), Yala Peak (5500m), and more. Take in the breathtaking scenery and acclimate to the altitude in preparation for the upcoming trekking challenges.
Day 07 : Kyangjin Gompa Rest and Exploration
Kyanjin Ri (4,800m/15,748ft) and Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,404ft) serve as excellent viewpoints in the region, offering breathtaking panoramas. After breakfast, embark on a visit to Tserko Ri (5000m) to witness the spectacular views of Langtang Lirung, the Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji, and the base of the expansive Lirung Glacier. Return to the guesthouse for lunch, allowing for a brief rest before exploring the Kyanjin Valley with your guide. Enjoy the serene surroundings before spending the night in Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 08 : Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2340m): 8 hrs of walking
Today’s trek involves retracing your steps back to Lama Hotel. While the trail is downhill, you’ll be treated to fantastic views of towering mountains that you may have missed on the ascent. Take your time, walk at a leisurely pace, and savor the scenic beauty. The descent provides a different perspective of the landscape, allowing you to appreciate the surroundings in a new light. Spend the night in Lama Hotel (2,470m/8,104ft).
Day 09: Lama Hotel – Thulo Syabru: 5-6 hours
The initial part of the trail involves descending to the river, crossing it, and then ascending to Thulo Syabru. Along the way, you’ll be treated to fascinating views of Langtang Himal and more. The trek passes through pine and juniper forests, adding to the natural beauty of the journey. Spend the night in Thulo Syabru (2,230m/7,316ft).
Day 10: Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa, 3254m, 5 walking hrs
The trek today takes you along a broad trail, ascending to Dimsa village. The trail continues, less steeply, through rhododendron, hemlock, and oak forests, eventually leading to Shin Gomba. Along the way, enjoy fantastic views of Langtang Himal and the Langtang Valley. Shin Gomba is known for being another popular spot for cheese. Spend the night in Shin Gomba (3,330m/10,925ft).
Day 11: Shin gomba- Gosainkunda: 5-6 hours
The trail ascends smoothly through rhododendron-covered terrain to the top of the rim, passing through a forested area. The region between Shin Gomba and Laurebina Yak is a sanctuary for the red panda, an endangered species known as the cat bear in Nepal. Returning to the ridge path, the trek continues to climb through alpine country, ultimately reaching Gosainkunda. Explore the lakes and their surroundings before spending the night in Gosainkund (4,460m/14,632ft).
Day 12: Gosainkunda- Gopte: 6-8 hours
Today’s trek presents a bit of a challenge as the trail involves climbing over rough terrain and crossing moraines. Passing three more small lakes, the trail ascends and crosses Laurebina La (4,609m/15,121ft). After the pass, the path descends to Phedi. The trek continues with a mix of uphill and downhill sections, crossing a rocky hill adorned with pine and rhododendron trees. Spend the night in Gopte (3,440m/11,286ft).
Day 13: Ghopte to Kutumsang (2446m): 5 and half hrs walking
Descending from the ridge at Ghopte, the trail leads through numerous ups and downs across ravines and the boulders of old moraines. After a slight descent, the trail begins to ascend through rhododendron, oak, and juniper forests, eventually reaching Tharepati (3510m). The trek continues downhill with only one small ridge to cross en route. Stop at Kutumsang, an intriguing and typically old-fashioned Helambu village. Enjoy the attractive mountain views along with insights into the local people’s lifestyle, culture, and customs.
Day 14: Kutumsang to Chisapani (2170m): 6/7 hrs walking
A pleasant descent through forests leads you to Pathi Bhanyjyang. Although it is a shorter day, the trail involves descents and climbs to Chisopani. Here, the breathtaking view of the entire central Himalayas awaits you, from Manaslu to Everest. The landscapes are particularly reflective in the evening and early morning hours, adding to the beauty of the surroundings. Enjoy the panoramic Himalayan range before settling in for the night in Chisopani.
Day 15: Chisapani to Sundarijal then drive to Kathmandu: 6 hrs walking
The day begins with a climb up to the last pass of the trek at Borlang Bhanjyang, situated at 2240m. From this point, a steep descent follows through deeply eroded chasms towards the Tamang settlement of Mulkharka (1800m). While descending, enjoy more superb views as you pass through oak and rhododendron forests, with some pine at lower altitudes. The trek then takes you to the road through a scenic landscape. Finally, it’s a short trek to Sundarijal, passing the local water supply system and following the water pipe to the village. From Sundarijal, you can opt for local transportation or have private transport waiting to bring you back to Kathmandu.
Days 16: Kathmandu free day
Today is a free day in Kathmandu, providing an opportunity for shopping or leisure activities. In the evening, you will enjoy a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepali restaurant, complete with a variety of cultural programs, adding a delightful conclusion to your trekking adventure.
Day 17: Final Departure
Our representative will accompany you to Tribhuvan International Airport and present you with a Khada, a traditional ceremonial scarf symbolizing good luck, as a gesture of farewell.
