Day – 01 – Kathmandu Arrival and Transfer to Hotel
Arriving in Kathmandu on a clear day is an exhilarating experience, as the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawl below, initiating a cascade of memorable experiences that linger in your memory for years to come. Upon arrival, a representative and driver from our office will warmly greet our guests at the airport and accompany them to their designated hotel or resort. The representative will assist guests with the check-in process and provide a briefing about their daily activities. Guests will then have the opportunity to explore the local area, soaking in the vibrant culture and sights of Kathmandu, before settling in for a comfortable night stay at their hotel or resort.
Day – 02 – Sightseeing around Kathmandu
The day begins with an early morning breakfast before embarking on a sightseeing tour of several major attractions in Kathmandu. Guests will visit Swoyambhunath, a nearly 2500-year-old site believed to have been settled by the Radiant Lotus when the valley was drained by Manjushri, the god of Wisdom. Next, they’ll explore Boudhanath, home to the world’s largest stupa representing Tibetan Buddhist culture, and the sacred Pashupatinath temple situated along the Bagmati River, revered as the holiest temple for Hindus dedicated to Lord Shiva and serving as a site for Hindu cremation rites (Please note: Non-Hindus are not allowed inside Pashupatinath temple). In the afternoon, the tour continues with visits to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, Mahadev and Parvati Temple, Machhender Bahl, and the Temple House of Kumari, the living goddess. Additionally, guests will explore Bhaktapur City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient charm and medieval devotion. The evening is free for leisurely strolls around local bazaars before returning to the hotel or resort in Kathmandu for the night.
Day – 03 – Drive to Pokhara 6-7 hrs drive
After enjoying an early morning breakfast, guests will embark on a scenic drive approximately 5 ½ to 6 hours and covering approximately 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu to reach Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal. Pokhara boasts a diverse landscape, with altitudes ranging from 827 meters in the southern part to 1740 meters in the north. Situated in close proximity to the Annapurna Range, Pokhara offers stunning views of three of the world’s ten highest mountains — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manaslu — located within approximately 15 to 35 miles as-the-crow-flies distance from the valley. Due to its location near the Annapurna mountain range, Pokhara serves as a base for trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit. Upon arrival, guests will check in at their hotel and have the evening free to stroll around the area and soak in the serene surroundings. The night will be spent in Pokhara, promising a peaceful and memorable stay.
Day – 04 – Pokhara Sightseeing
The sightseeing itinerary is designed to encompass several key attractions in Pokhara, understanding that visiting all places in one day may not be feasible. Included in the itinerary are visits to the Old Bazaar of Pokhara city, Bindhayabasini Temple, Seti George, a Buddhist monastery, Pokhara Regional Museum, Devi’s Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, the Tibetan Refugee Camp, Barahi Temple, Sarankot, Peace Stupa, and a boating excursion at Fewa Lake. Of particular interest is the Tal Barahi Temple, situated in the middle of Fewa Lake, accessible by a short boat ride of less than 10 minutes. The serene atmosphere and verdant forest surrounding the lake’s south end add to its charm, offering a tranquil escape. Visitors can also witness major celebrations during the Dashain festivals and explore various Hindu and Buddhist temples, as well as other points of interest like lakes, museums, caves, and temples. The evening is free for guests to leisurely stroll around the area before retiring for the night in Pokhara.
Day – 05 – Drive Pokhara to Nagarkot 8-9 hrs drive
The journey to Nagarkot, approximately 200 kilometers away, typically takes 8 to 9 hours via Kathmandu. Nagarkot is renowned as one of the premier spots for viewing Mount Everest and other snow-capped peaks of the eastern Himalayan range. It is particularly famous for its breathtaking sunrise views over the Himalayas. Spending a night in Nagarkot is essential to witness the stunning sunrise and catch a glimpse of Mount Everest and other majestic peaks. Additionally, Nagarkot offers splendid vistas of the Indrawati River Valley to the east. With an elevation of 2195 meters, Nagarkot’s beauty remains captivating year-round, with the period from November to March offering particularly clear views. Upon arrival, guests will check into their hotel, and if fortunate enough to arrive before sunset, they may also enjoy watching the sun setting over the horizon. The night will be spent in Nagarkot, ensuring an unforgettable experience of Nepal’s natural splendor.
Day – 06 – Departure from Kathmandu
Begin your day by watching the sunrise at Nagarkot, where you’ll witness a breathtaking panoramic view stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. Situated at about 7500 feet altitude, Nagarkot offers stunning vistas, and on clear days, you may even catch a glimpse of the tip of Mount Everest. After this unforgettable experience, embark on a scenic drive approximately 35 kilometers to Kathmandu Airport. Depending on your flight timings, you may have the opportunity to visit Thamel or other nearby places of interest en route to the airport. From there, continue your onward journey, filled with the memories of the majestic Himalayan sunrise and the beauty of Nepal’s landscapes.
