Mt. Annapurna

56 Days

Annapurna, a breathtaking peak in western Nepal, proudly hosts the Annapurna I summit at 8,091 meters, surrounded by thirteen peaks surpassing 7,000 meters and sixteen standing above 6,000 meters. Ranking as the tenth highest globally among peaks exceeding 8,000 meters, Annapurna I is uniquely situated east of the Kali Gandaki canyon, separate from the Dhaulagiri massif. Its name, “Annapurna,” meaning “filled of food” in Sanskrit, symbolizes the goddess of production.

The historic first ascent by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal in 1950 paved the way for the Annapurna Expedition, a 60-day journey curated by BG Travel. This adventure unfolds mesmerizing views of the entire Annapurna range, featuring peaks like Annapurna II, III, IV, Varaha Shikhar, Dhaulagiri 1 and 2, Nilgiri, Tukche Peak, and Machhapuchhre. The optimal expedition period is from October to May, guiding participants through the Kaligandaki valley, where natural hot springs, the Dhaulagiri icefall, and insights into the Thakali people’s lifestyle await amid the captivating backdrops of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
