The Arun Valley trek is nestled between the world’s two highest mountains, Everest and Makalu. Popular among trekkers, it offers not only stunning mountain views but also diverse nature and the rich culture of ethnic groups like Sherpa, Rai, and Limbu. This non-touristic area boasts incredible natural beauty and cultural diversity. Trekkers can explore the north side of the Arun River, reaching Sedua and Num by crossing Barun-la pass, parts of Sherpini col pass trekking trail, and the Hongu Valley in the west. The trek’s highest point is Salpa Bhanjyang, and a visit to the Hindu holy site, Salpa Pokhari (3414m), is also included.
