Annpurna Siklis trek is one of the spectacular short trek with good Mountain View, is located to the north east of Pokhara, at about 2000m elevations, in the shadow of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. It is a large village, possibly the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. Trekkers can see a well-preserved example of traditional Gurung culture, life-style of the people here and handicraft production. The local cloth weaving and the ancient water driven flourmills are another attractions of this village. It is not a heavily trekked area giving all its beauty to one alone. As one is walking along the peaceful ranges with terraced hills all around, you will see colorful flora and fauna painting the landscape, eagles soaring high above and good mountain views including Machhapuchhare and Annapurna.Gurung villages away from the tourist trail offer a cultural experience that is all to often missed on the more popular trails.
Walking through untouched primary forest is a rare joy anyway, but in the foothills of Nepal it is exhilarating. The trail follows the high alpine summer grazing route the shepherds use to herd their flocks above the treeline. The views from the ridges of the endless blue foothills as they roll southwards is unsurpassed anywhere in the Kingdom. This new trek offers a truly captivating village experience where we get to see the real rural Nepal.
