Makalu Base Camp Trekking

Makalu Base camp trekking is unbeaten, demanding and outstanding trekking in the eastern part of Nepal. Now, it is designated as Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area. It is one of the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. Makalu Base camp trek is a true adventure with scenery so beautiful that it will never tire you. The trek starts with a flight to Tumlingtar and heads up the Aurn River valley to Sedua and Num, then crossing Shipton La Pass (4210 m) into the upper Barun river valley for a close look at Makalu and Chamlang Himal. This is a region where you hardly find any modern facilities and amenities but blessed with an incredible diversity of natural beauty. This region is isolation and lack of tea houses and need to do camping trekking. Sherpa, Rai and Limbus are prominent habitants in this region. Walking north up the Arun River to Sedua and Num, you get to the upper Barun Khola valley for a close look at Makalu (8,463m). You can put together even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani Col and west Col into the upper Hongu valley.
